The HKKH Partnership Project aims at consolidation of institutional capacity for
systemic planning and ecosystem management in the Hindu Kush-Karakoram-Himalaya
region. As a multi-scale initiative, we work together with local, national and regional
stakeholders on capacity building and decision support tools for ecosystem management
on different temporal and spatial scales. Our activities support the exchange of
data, knowledge and experiences across the region and the development of a management-oriented
research framework.
Moving into the 5th Semester - Stakeholders' Meeting held in Kathmandu

To kick off its fifth semester and third year of work, the HKKH Partnership Project held a Stakeholders’ meeting in Kathmandu on August 4, 2008. Thirty-five key stakeholders participated in the meeting to review the last six months of project outputs and to plan for this semester. Mr. Jhamak Karki, Under Secretary with DNPWC, opened the meeting.

Training Workshop on the Management Plan of Sagarmatha National Park

From July 22 to 24, 2008 in Namche Bazzaar, IUCN Nepal is conducting a two-day orientation training workshop about the management plan and regulations of Sagarmatha National Park (SNP) and its Buffer Zone. The training workshop involves more than 50 buffer zone management leaders (executives) from Namche, Khumjung, and Chaurikharka VDCs.
